- MY REPORT: Aaron Rowand is good but has very little help from his team. well Evan Longoria is NA so you have to drop him but he will be AL Rookie of the Year when he gets called up. Orlando Hudson is good but not good enough if you need extra pitching. Julio Lugo was in a slump last year but look for him to bounce back and come up big when his team needs him. Kevin Youkillis is the best fielding 1st baseman right now in the game. He has power and will be great again this year. Todd Helton is good but I think he is starting to slow down because of his age. SUMMARY: Keep Youkillis and Lugo until longoria is called up. Once he is pick him up. Your heath bell for orlando henandez move was also great.
- Rowand: $12 Longoria: $14 Hudson: $12 Lugo: $12 Youkillis: $10 Helton: $17 O.K. move. Doesn't do much. They are the same.
- Well it all really depends on how your league is set up. I am assuming that you don't get to keep players (dynasty) and it is a regular 5x5. a.rowand - might be the best potential for this season to surprise out of all even though going to a pitchers park in (SF). e. longoria - in a dynasty league, keep him. For this one year, maybe trade him for a team owner who likes the prospects. o. hudson - is a bit overvalued this season with his jump in average last year. he will return to about league averages. you probably could trade him a get some value in return without much risk. j. lugo - depends on who you have at ss. not a huge gain in potential is going to be realized being old and all...yet you could do worse at ss. k. youkilis - basically you are seeing the past two years his production...wouldn't expect much more or less. t. helton - still could hit for avg., runs, and rbi. no real potential for a breakout season as numbers have declined from his peak yet still not a bad person to have in the lineup. Bell was a definite good drop. O. Hernandez well that depends who you have. Good Luck!!
- Projected Stats: Aaron Rowand - .280 22 HR 80 R 90 RBI SB 7 Evan Longoria - .275 17 HR 50 R 61 RBI Orlando Hudson- .290 13 HR 92 R 57 RBI 9 SB Kevin Youkilis - .286 18 100 85 4 Todd Helton - .306 16 90 85 Notice I left Lugo out. Dump him. Helton and Rowand are good trade bait. Don't drop them before trying to swing a deal with someone who has a weak outfield or first baseman. Hudson is a valuable backup if your second baseman goes down to an injury. The hype on Longoria is big... you may be able to deal him for a decent pitcher at this point. Basically, you're better off trying to trade these guys for pitching rather than getting someone off waivers. Helton and Rowand should be able to fetch number 4 starters. If Hernandez is healthy, then he's a nice pickup who should win games and get strikeouts. But he's not really healthy. He's also in his mid-40s. You may want to go with someone younger with more upside, like a Greinke, Garza or Buchholtz
